As there are number of VPN are in the field, so functions and quality of everyone isn’t equal. Most of the VPN custom clients have many problems which come into user’s knowledge after he installs the VPN i.e. wasted system resources, barely any settings, infuriating notifications and maladroit interface, etc.

OpenVPN is an open-source software (denoting software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified) which applies VPN modus operandi to create site to site connections in routed configurations and remote access capabilities.

Getting Started

Go the Community download webpage of OpenVPN to download latest build of OpenVPN. When you’ll click on the given link, you’ll land on VPN community download page.


  1. After completing the downloading process, click on the “agree” button which means you agree with their terms and conditions. Click button “Next”.
  2. In next step accept the default “components to install”. Generally a user accept the default button, however if you want custom selection / new destination folder, click on “custom” button, to complete the installation course.
  3. After completion of installation, a Quick Start Guide will appear in Notepad containing technical details of the downloaded file. These details are only for read. However if you’re not interested in reading these details, close the Notepad file.
